La lista de los 500 Mejores Álbumes de Rolling Stone es una clasificación de álbumes de todas las épocas, recopilada por la revista musical estadounidense Rolling Stone desde 2003 y actualizada constantemente.
Primera Edición
La primera edición de la lista, publicada en 2003, fue el resultado de un jurado especial de 273 músicos, críticos, historiadores y profesionales de la industria musical, entre ellos Beck, The Edge, Jackson Browne, Art Garfunkel, Missy Elliott y miembros de Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Linkin Park y The Doors. Cada miembro del jurado podía emitir 50 votos. Los resultados se calcularon a partir de un total de 1600 votos emitidos, utilizando un sistema de puntos desarrollado por Ernst & Young.[1]
Los nombres de artistas o grupos más recurrentes fueron: The Beatles (11 álbumes), Bob Dylan (10), The Rolling Stones (10), Bruce Springsteen (8), The Who (7), Elton John (6), David Bowie (6), Radiohead (5), U2 (5), Bob Marley (5), Led Zeppelin (5) y Pink Floyd (4).
